All are welcome to come worship at Old Saratoga. \u00a0Our sanctuary is accessible by stairs or a platform\/wheelchair lift.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Currently, masks <\/strong><\/em>are suggested throughout the service<\/b><\/span><\/em> <\/span>if you have not<\/span> <\/em>been\u00a0<\/strong>vaccinated<\/b>.<\/b><\/p>\n

The worship service begins at 10 A.M. and normally lasts for one hour. \u00a0An order of worship is available from the ushers and visitors may sit anywhere in the sanctuary.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The service is normally led by our Pastor, an ordained Minister of Word and Sacrament.\u00a0 PASTOR SUSAN KERR: 518-366-3648<\/strong><\/p>\n

Children are welcome to sit with their parents.\u00a0 There are currently no Sunday School classes.<\/strong><\/p>\n

A weekly scripture lesson usually follows the\u00a0Lectionary<\/a>\u00a0– a three-year cycle of scripture readings used by many denominations throughout the world. \u00a0Scripture is usually read by a reader scheduled in advance.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Hymns and prayers, scripture reading and sermon, an offering, and anthem sung by the choir are all regularly part of the service.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Our traditional order of worship (liturgy) is divided into three parts which emphasize preparation, hearing and response to the Word of God.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Two sacraments celebrated are<\/strong><\/p>\n

    \n
  1. the Lord’s Supper or Holy Communion (held the first Sunday of each month)<\/strong><\/li>\n
  2. the Sacrament of Baptism upon request for people of all ages.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    The worship year begins four weeks before Christmas with the season of Advent. \u00a0Following Christmas the seasons of Epiphany, Lent, Easter, and Pentecost are arranged to follow the life and ministry of Jesus Christ.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
