In 2020, Old Saratoga Reformed Church celebrates its 250th year. Part of the celebration was provided by Dick Behrens, the church historian, in a series of presentations, included with services starting in July 2020.
“So here we are, members in adherence. Some 250 years removed since the Reverend Drummond preached his first sermon at the Dutch Reformed Protestant Church at Old Saratoga. We do not know what the future holds. We do know that we belong, body and soul, to God the Creator, who is able to sustain us, perhaps guiding us into new paths of service. As long as we keep the faith, as long as we continue to seek God’s Will in our personal lives of prayer and service, as long as we continue to seek God’s Will for the life of this church, we will come to see and carry out the vision foreseen by the prophet Jeremiah, who heard the voice of God say,
I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord. Plans for your welfare, and not for harm, to give you a future with hope. Then you will call upon Me, and come and pray to Me. I will hear you. When you search for Me, you will find Me, if you seek me with all your heart.
Amen.” Richard Behrens, Sep 27, 2020
